Student James Hamalian
My name is James Hamalian and I am a proud Junior in the LeBow College of Business and Pennoni Honors College studying finance and accounting.
As a South Jersey boy, I always had aspirations of living and working a big city. My collegiate experience has given me the opportunity to live those dreams, enabling me to participate in co-op internships with JPMorgan on the East Coast and Goldman Sachs on the West Coast all before my 21st birthday.
In my time at Drexel, I have seen the university grow in physical size, academic excellence, and impact both domestically and internationally. The grand infrastructural and scholastic progress has inspired many students, including myself, and has been one of my personal catalysts for success. The environment on campus is unlike any other –pioneering research, a global perspective through vibrant student life activities, and experiential learning in the classroom and through the co-op program. When these elements are brought together at Drexel University today, our institution stands out as a true breeding ground for young professionals to form innovative solutions for the puzzles and problems of the world.
Since 1891 Anthony J. Drexel made his $3 million gift to establish the Drexel Institute of Art, Science and Industry with an innovative vision for higher education. Succeeding generations of visionaries like you have sustained our University. Your leadership support is integral to continuing our founding mission of serving students and society, and achieving the three objectives President John Fry outlined in his inaugural remarks:
- To become one of academe’s most powerful engines for neighborhood improvement and regional economic growth
- To mobilize our entrepreneurial energies to confront threats to human health, economic prosperity, and the environment
- To maximize Drexel’s global reputation and impact
I thank you for your contributions, which have made these goals more than a dream. Your generosity and vision have helped me and scores of my fellow Dragons to achieve great success and Do It.
