Student Timothy Banks-Washington
My name is Timothy Banks-Washington and I am a student at Drexel University, currently studying in Business. Without scholarship support, I wouldn’t be able to comfortably attend Drexel without concern of my financial situation. My parents and guardians were not in the position to help pay for my education. Receiving scholarship assistance alleviated my worries.
I was born and raised in Philadelphia. I have five siblings – I am the first to attend college and one of three to graduate high school thus far. I have aspirations of working in banking or personal investments. I am a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Last term I had a co-op at Fiserv, which is a financial technology company that provides software to credit unions and banks among other things. This co-op program gives me such an edge on my competition at other institutions. I find that a Drexel education will take me a long way.
Receiving scholarship support helps ensure that I will be the first in my family to graduate college. I have impressed upon my siblings that with hard work and dedication, they too will have an opportunity to pursue higher education. Again, I thank you for your support of Drexel, and my education.
