GivingTuesday at Drexel University
What is GivingTuesday?
GivingTuesday is the world’s largest generosity movement, aimed at inspiring people and organizations everywhere to transform their communities by making an impact locally, nationally or globally. Held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, GivingTuesday is an opportunity for everyone to invest in the organizations that inspire them. Drexel University is proud to participate in the annual tradition of GIvingTuesday, raising both awareness and support for programs at the University that make an immediate impact on our students and community.
The GivingTuesday Impact at Drexel
During GivingTuesday 2020 (December 1) more than 300 alumni, employees, students, parents and friends invested in the featured Drexel initiatives working to provide immediate resources to students and families facing food insecurity. Together, they raised more than $30,000 to make meals possible for students and community members, exceeding Drexel’s initial goal of $15,000 and setting a University record for support on GivingTuesday.
The power of Dragons is incredible, and the combined impact of support on GivingTuesday 2020 made more than 1,200 meals possible for students and community members.
