A CGA offers a win-win situation!

A charitable gift annuity (CGA) is both a tax-deductible gift and an income-producing annuity. It's a way to benefit the college, school or program at Drexel that means the most to you, while still supporting yourself and/or your loved ones.

It’s simple:  In return for the irrevocable transfer of your gift of cash, marketable securities or other assets, Drexel will pay you (or your designated beneficiary) a fixed amount of money for life. Even better? You’ll qualify for a charitable deduction for the amount of your gift AND a portion of the income payments you receive will be tax-free*!

Which CGA is right for you?

Immediate Gift Annuity

Your income payments begin immediately. The most common arrangement is quarterly payments, but they can be monthly, semi-annually or annually.

Deferred Gift Annuity

Your payments will begin at a future date (one year or more after you that you establish your CGA) that you choose, and the amount of your payments will be based on your age when they start.

Flexible Gift Annuity

This type of CGA offers you the option of establishing your CGA without setting a date for payments to start, allowing you to decide on that at a future time, such as when you retire or you have an “empty nest” at home. Of course, the older you are when your payments begin, the larger those payments will be.
